| Rental Heaters for the Job Site! |
 |
Temp Heaters, a division of Infra-Red Products Supply, Inc., rents Fostoria Heat Wave electric salamander heaters to the construction trades in Northern Utah!
Why choose the Heat Wave for job site heating?
The Fostoria Heat Wave is safe, simple to operate and saves time at the job site by eliminating the need to fill fuel tanks. No more fuel refills! No more fumes! No more water vapor! If you pause to think about the time, hassle and expense of fuel fired heaters, you'll come to the conclusion that there has to be a better way to get heat on the job. Heat Wave heaters are the solution.
Heat Wave Salamander heaters provide the climate control you need for interior jobs, without the threat of combustion by-products or humidity constantly contaminating the the air. The clean, dry heat allows drywall contractors to tape, mud and sand between coats in a fraction of the time and with much less hassle.
And unlike fuel-fired heaters, the Heat Wave is thermostatically controlled and can be safely left unattended for long stretches, greatly decreasing down time waiting for paint, mud, caulking and adhesives to dry.
The built-in safety features include: continuously variable thermostat and hi-temperature cut-out switch coupled to an auto-reset. Both help to prevent accidents. The Heat Wave, powered by electricty, is very quiet and also maintenance free.
How does the Heat Wave Work?
Operation is simple. Connect to a 240V power source and the Heat Wave's 800 CFM fan pushes ambient air over multiple heat coils, recirculating air within the room until it reaches the temperature level set with the unit's thermostat.
The temperature adjusts from 40 degrees to 100 degrees F. Here's an added feature - the heater can also be switched to fan-only operation for basic air circulation and to aid in drying/curing. (During milder temperatures, that air circulation alone, with no heat, may be all that is needed). Safety screens cover each end of the heat drum. Finally, the heater is attached to a heavy duty cart for easy portability from room to room.
Who benefits the most by using the Heat Wave?
Heat Wave electric salamander heaters are excellent for all of the construction trades including:
Drywall and plastering, tile setting, painting, flooring installation, and any finish work where drying, curing and product material tempering is critical to reducing down times and making jobs more productive and profitable. Heat Wave heaters are the best choice for freeze control, thawing, and simply making the work environment a more enjoyable place to be.

| How Much Heat Do I Need? |
For new construction:
An insulated "up-to-code" 1800 sq ft. building would require one 15KW heater to achieve up to a 60 deg. F temperature rise. Uninsulated, the same space could realize a temperature rise of 40 deg. F. These temperature rises will normally be reached in just over two hours.
Pole Building / Work Shop:
To heat an insulated 200 sq ft. (40' x 50') pole building with a 12' ceiling - use two 15 KW heaters. This will provide a 60 deg. F temperature rise within two to three hours.
Industrial Storage Building inside of a Main Facility:
An uninsulated 20' x 30' cement-block building with 12' ceilings that is located inside of the main facility which has an ambiet temperature of 40"F - would require one 15KW heater to achieve a 30 deg. F temperature rise. This temperature rise will normally be reached in one-half hour.
The following chart can help you determine the time it takes to heat a particular size space. Note that most of the heaters we rent are 15 kW. |

| Power Requirements |
|
Most job sites will have plenty of power available from a temporary service panel (such as on new construction sites), or a permanent electrical service panel, a generator, or an electric range outlet. Power requirments are as follows:
10 kW Heat Wave Heater 240V, 1 ph. (draws 42 amps) 15 kW Heat Wave Heater 240V, 1 ph. (draws 63 amps)
Note: larger 30 kW heaters are also available under special circumstances, but are not applicable for most smaller locations and job sites. Therefore, we only keep the 10 kW and 15 kW heaters in stock for rent.
An appropriate sized circuit breaker must be easily available and within a reasonable distance to where the heater will be located. Standard range cable such as 6/4 SO cable is required. To energize from a service panel, simply feed the cable from the heater into your service box and connect the three wires. For example; an 80 amp fuse or breaker is needed for the 15 kW model. Temp Heaters offers cable in varying lengths. Just specify what you need and we'll provide it.
